Agnes Fish Snyder

Canton - Agnes Marie Fish Snyder, age 93, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017.
Mrs. Snyder was born February 24, 1924 in Haywood County to the late Albert Fish and the late Iva Mae Green Fish. She was a devoted homemaker and had proudly resided in 37 states of the USA. In the in the late 1990’s she returned to Haywood County to make her home. Agnes was indeed an excellent cook and been employed with several restaurants and had also worked as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Snyder always made everyone feel welcome who visited her home and no one ever left without something delicious to eat that she had prepared. She enjoyed crocheting, doing cross stitch, playing bridge and traveling. Most remarkably, Agnes was a terrific bowler and had been a member of a bowling league up until the age of 85. She loved to sing and she was also a wonderful story teller. Agnes often shared a favorite story or funny joke with friends and family. She loved children, all animals and her friendly outgoing personality was a joy to everyone blessed to know her. In her own words, “A stranger is a friend who you haven’t met yet.” Her precious memory will forever be cherished.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Daniel Lee Snyder who passed away in 2014; her son, David Spooner; four brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are her daughter, Danna Davidson and her husband, Daniel Davidson of Black Mountain and also a daughter residing in Texas; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
To honor Mrs. Snyder’s request, no formal services will be held.
