Canton - Amos “Tire Man” Ewart left this world for his heavenly home on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 70.

Mr. Ewart was born May 11, 1948 in Haywood County to the late Paul Howard Ewart and the late Jesse Norman Marie Holt Ewart. He had formerly been employed with Canton Hardwood and his legacy lies in the community which he served by selling used tires for spares and temporaries. Amos always greeted everyone with a smile and he was well known throughout the community as the “Tire Man”.  He loved his family deeply and his grandchildren were the light of his life. The happy memories of family gatherings at his home and playing horseshoes with friends and family will always be cherished by each of them. He attended Dutch Cove Baptist Church and never missed an opportunity to serve his Lord, always handing out pamphlets with Bible scriptures and being a witness for his Lord and Saviour. Amos will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years,Vicky Putnam Ewart of Canton and their children,Tina, Emmanuel, David and Stephen; his siblings, Joan Putnam, Shirley Southerland, Stanley Ewart and Leslie Ewart and also a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved Amos dearly.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Jason Miller will be officiating. Burial will in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
