In Loving Memory

Photo of Barbara Ann Jaynes - 1939-2019

Canton-It is with great sadness the family of Barbara Ann Jaynes announces her passing away on Friday, July 26, 2019, at the age of 80 years old.

Barbara was born in Jackson County, NC where she attended the local schools in Sylva. She eventually made her permanent home in Canton, NC where she raised her family and retired from Blue Ridge Paper Products. Barbara will forever be remembered by her four children Eddie (Linda), Mike (Kellie), David (Frances), and Deborah. She will also be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Amanda, Zachary, Tyler, Brandon, Colson and Ivy, four great grandchildren, Destiny, Declan, Reid and Landyn, nine nieces and nephews, and brother, Robert Williams. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ruby Williams, and siblings Louise, Charles, Harold and Walt Jr.

Her love and dedication for her family was profound. She was most comfortable in her home and sitting on her back porch where she would visit with family and friends. Everyone who visited her left with the feeling she was genuinely interested in their lives, interests and what made them happy. Her presence and wave goodbye at the top of the yard will be forever missed and remembered.

Barbara maintained a simple life only wanting for happiness, good health and security for everyone. She committed her life to generously giving to others, whether it was time, money, hugs or smiles. She was especially dedicated to helping children in need. Her sense of humor always brought a smile to your face and was constant throughout her life. Her artistic talents and abilities were amazing and she had a passion for reading.

Barbara never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes a Celebration of Life will be a small gathering with her immediate family. In memory of Barbara, the family suggests donating your attention, smiles and hugs to those around you. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or any charity benefiting children.

Barbara left this final request, “Be Good to Each Other.”

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Jaynes family.
