Betty Mills Jenkins
A Kind and Caring Lady
Canton -On Monday March 19, 2018 Betty Mills Jenkins, age 81, passed away at Haywood Nursing and Rehab in Waynesville and entered into her eternal heavenly home.
Mrs. Jenkins was born March 12, 1937 to the late John Millard Mills and the late Burlie Medford Mills. She had made her home in Haywood County and had been employed as a beautician, working many dedicated years taking care of her clients and making many lifelong friendships. Betty truly loved children and although she never had a child of her own she was surrounded with numerous nieces, nephews and their children that she cared for just as if they were her own. Each of them loved Betty dearly and cherished their special time shared with her . She shall be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jenkins; a sister, Almarie Campbell and a brother, Earl Mills.
Surviving are her sister, Helen Mills of Waynesville; her brothers, Ralph Mills and his wife, Barbara Mills of Waynesville, Ray Mills and his wife, Lois Mills of Waynesville and Lowell Mills and his wife, Elaine Mills of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews and their families and also Oma-Lou Leatherwood who was Betty’s special roommate at the nursing facility and who was indeed her true friend and someone who was always there for Betty.
To honor the request of Mrs. Jenkins, no formal funeral services will be held.
