In Loving Memory
Canton - Brenda Jane Abel, 71, died unexpectedly Wednesday December 20th, 2017 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Mary Lou Henson Abel.She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at The Community Kitchen in Canton. Mrs. Abel will be remembered as a kind and caring grandmother who loved her church and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother David Abel.
She is survived by a brother, Douglas Abel and his wife Judy; two daughters, Kristie Shipman White and her husband David of Fletcher, April Broadbent Baker and her husband Rich of Brandon, Florida; a son, Thomas Dale Shipman of Hayesville, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; Amanda Shipman of Phoenix, Arizona, Cody Shipman of Bellingham Washington, April Shipman, also of Bellingham, Melissa White of Chapel Hill, David White, Jr., of Asheville, Jesse White and his wife, Bhavneet of Raleigh, Emily Carothers of Brandon, Florida, and Seth Shepard, also of Brandon; 3 great-grandchildren; Jaxon Varley and Madison Varley, of Phoenix, Arizona and Gabriel Castanon of Brandon, Florida.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Silver Bluff Nursing Home for their loving care and endless patience in the care of Brenda.
Private services will be held at a later date.
