So Deeply Loved

Photo of Carolyn Pace Heatherly - 1951-2019

Canton- On the peaceful evening of Sunday, August 18, 2019 Carolyn Pace Heatherly, was surrounded by her loving family as the angels carried her to eternal heavenly home. We give thanks for the 67 years of her wonderful life.

Carolyn was born in the winter season of December 8, 1951 to the late Robert Pace and the late Martha Ila Grooms Pace. She grew up in a loving home surrounded by a family of two brothers and three sisters that brought joy and laughter into her life every day. As Carolyn grew up into a beautiful young lady, her kind and caring spirit was always evident among her family and friends. Upon meeting the love of her life, Ronnie Heatherly, she began a new journey by becoming his wife and together they have shared 48 years of a happy and joyous marriage. Her greatest achievement in life, Carolyn would tell you,was becoming a mother and being blessed with their beautiful daughter, Rebecca, who has brought an immeasurable love into their lives each and every day. During Carolyn’s 18 years of dedicated employment with Champion International at Lake Logan Lodge she touched the lives of everyone she met. She was an amazing cook and she had the gift of making everyone who stopped by for a visit feel welcome to their home. Carolyn’s greatest joy were her two cherished grandchildren, Kara Leigh and Jackson- they were the light of her life and they will hold precious memories of their Nana throughout their lives. Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our beloved Carolyn but she will remain a part of us forever. In the words of her daughter, Rebecca, “I had the best Mom ever.” Carolyn taught us to always look for the best in people, to be kind and caring to others and to be a friend to everyone. On this day, please tell someone that you love them and brighten someone’s day with a smile. Carolyn would be pleased.

Surviving are her loving family, her husband, Ronnie Heatherly of Canton; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Heatherly Whitaker and Richard Whitaker of Mountain Brook, Alabama; grandchildren, Kara Leigh and Jackson; her sisters, Rosemary Trull of Canton, Peggy Reece of Canton and Annette Griffith of Canton; her brothers, Robert Pace, Jr. of Canton and Bruce Pace and his wife Patsy Pace of Canton; many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Mount Zion Baptist Church.  Reverend Jack Holland and Reverend Benny Robinson will be officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the church from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service.  Burial will be in Sunburst Cemetery at Lake Logan in Canton. Due to the limited space for parking at the cemetery, the commital service will be privately attended by family members only.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Heatherly family.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Carolyn was one special Lady and will be missed by many. She always had a sweet smile and had love for everyone. She would tell me about all the fun you and Tracy had playing at her house. We would laugh at the two of you, don't know how we go all that dirt off you two. That was a lot of good memories. Love you and your Dad.
