Mooresville/ Canton – Earl Garfield Parker, age 85, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Mr. Parker was born October 5, 1932 in Jackson County and had been a North Carolina resident most of his life, having residing in Mooresville for the past 46 years. He was the son of the late Hershel Parker and the late Lela Potter Parker. Mr. Parker had honorably served his country in Korea as a United States Army Veteran. He had been employed with Clement Brothers Construction and Blythe of Charlotte where he retired with 34 years of dedicated service. Earl enjoyed playing golf and he also had a most delightful personality and fun way of interacting with friends and family. Earl was a wonderful husband and father and a great “ Paw” to his grandchildren. He shall be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hershel “Bud” Parker and Gay Parker; a sister, Geraldine Parker.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis Rose Parker of Mooresville; a son, Michael Parker and his wife, Jackie Parker of Mooresville; grandchildren, Amber Laney (Ryan) of Mooresville, Matthew Linker (Whitney)of China Grove; great-grandchildren, Slade, Ayva, London and Nicklaus and many dear friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde.
