Leicester- Emma Jean Clemmons Gillespie, age 72, entered into her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Emma Jean was born February 10, 1947 to the late Jeff Jesse Clemmons and the late Annie Pack Clemmons. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and had been employed with Burlington Industries where she retired with several years of dedicated service. Mrs. Gillispie attended Georgetown Baptist Church. She will forever be remembered as someone who was lovingly called Mom and Granny by those whose lives she had touched with her kind and caring spirit. Emma Jean was  blessed with an easy going personality and she was truly fun loving and enjoyed life. Her beloved memory will be cherished forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Clemmons.

Surviving are children, Mary White (Freddie)  of Leicester , Jeffrey Gillispie (Missy) of Leicester, Sherry Shelton ( Cecil) of Marshall and Linda Gail Bridges ( Jackie) of Leicester; 13 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren and a precious baby blessing soon to born; ; a special friend, Alvin Duncan of Leicester; a brother, Bobby Clemmons of Leicester; a sister, Pat Hensley of Trinity, NC ; her former husbands, Charles Herbert Taylor of Biltmore and Wade Gillispie of Leicester who are the fathers of her children.

Services for Mrs. Gillispie will be held at a later date.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Gillispie family.
