Clyde- Roxie Gladys Hall Ford, age 96, entered into her heavenly home on Monday, October 14, 2019.

She was born November 25, 1922 to the late Evion O. Hall and the late Ivalee Cole Hall. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ford who passed away in 1977; her son, Van Ford, and also two infant sons; four brothers, and four sisters.

Gladys was born in Swain County where she had resided before making her home in Haywood County since 1943.  Mrs. Ford was blessed with a caring and nurturing heart and she was a caregiver to many family members and also many others who needed her care. She was an amazing cook and her delicious homemade biscuits and cornbread were favorites of everyone. She enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flower garden was admired by everyone. Gladys was an avid doll collector and she also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. Mrs. Ford was of the Baptist faith. We give thanks for the life of a wonderful wife, loving mother, special great-grandmother and a dear friend to many. Gladys will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Benny Ford and his wife, Diane of Clyde; daughter-in-law, Janice Ford of Waynesville; grandchildren, Tonya Rhinehart of  Clyde, Dusty Ford and his wife, Jennifer of Candler, and Cynthia Ford of Waynesville; great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, McKinley, and River; and great-great-grandchildren, Georgia, Hailey, and Bentley.

Family and friends are invited to the home of Benny and Diane Ford for a reception and gathering to be held in remembrance of Mrs. Ford on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Ford’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Silver Bluff Village for the excellent care and compassion they have given to Gladys over the past 10 years.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Ford family.
