A Man Who Loved Life

Gregory Alan Faulkner, age 59, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

A native of Burke County, Gregory was a son of the late Everett Eugene Faulkner and Carol Jeanette Buffington Miller of Clyde. Greg was a graduate of Pisgah High School and had attended Haywood Community College where he was blessed with many friendships. He was a talented carpenter and was indeed a good man who was dedicated to his family. Gregory loved life and truly lived life to its fullest. He was skilled at riding skateboards and unicycles, doing backflips, and  even juggling. His talent as a gifted carpenter also allowed him to make his own skateboards from practically anything.  Greg enjoyed fishing and gardening, but above all, he loved spending time with his family whom he loved with all his heart and soul.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother,Ila Mae Stevens; his father-in-law, Bobby Nelson and his mother-in-law, Willodean Nelson.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Pam Simmons Faulkner; two children, Brittany Faulkner and Blake Faulkner both of Canton; his mother, Carol Jeanette Miller of Clyde; two brothers, Kenneth Faulkner and his wife, Angie, of Leicester, and Everett Faulkner, Jr. of Canton; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Pastor Jonathan Blaylock officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from from 2:30 until 4:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family at Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 1 North Main St. Canton, NC 28716.

Greg and I shared much laughter during our years at Canton Junior High and Pisgah Sr. High. He bought my unicycle from me, then rode it home. To Greg's family, I send you my prayers. May God give you strength to get through this difficult time.

Pam , im not sure if u remember me. Im Gene's sister. Gene truely thought the world of Greg. If Gene were to claim one of his true friends a brother. Its Greg. Im so sorry for ur loss. Greg was truely a good guy.. I lost Gene in July also. He passrd on the 5th of July. I miss my brother every day. God Bless you hon. And please give my condolences to his Mom and Everett.
