James "Jim" Patterson
In Honor and Remembrance
Clyde- James “Jim” Rubin Patterson, age 66, entered into his eternal heavenly home on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Mr. Patterson was born November 24, 1951 in Sandy Hook,Mississippi to the late Ivan Paul Patterson and the late Mary Elizabeth Messengale Patterson . He had resided in Mississippi before moving to Clyde in 1995 to make his home. Mr. Patterson had honorably served his country as a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam and was awarded several distinguished medals which included The Purple Heart, Combat Infantry, Expert Marksman, Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service and the National Defence Medal. Following his military career Jim was employed in the landscaping industry and was indeed a man with many talents. Mr. Patterson truly enjoyed life, loved to fish and spend special time with his grandchildren. He was also a talented musician and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. His memory will be held forever in the hearts of his family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rocky Campbell; a grandson, Timothy Reece; granddaughters, Casey Earley and Whitney Earley and four brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife and his best friend, Carolyn Jones Patterson of Clyde; daughters, Jackie Phillips (Will) of Clyde and Tina Reece ( Daniel)of Canton; grandchildren, Jason Campbell ( Mary), Ricky Campbell (Sarah), Glenn Campbell, Jasmine Reece ( Anthony), Tyler Reece, Nikki Perry and Shyanne Rogers; great- grandchildren, Adeen Campbell, Allyssa Ewart, Clinton Rogers, JC Riddle and Rebecca Riddle; five brothers; two sisters; and many dear friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 8, 2018 in the chapel of Crawford/ Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Chaplain of Haywood Hospice, Reverend Lynn Burgess will be officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Anthony Clayborne, William Phillips, Cheyenne Pressley, Jesse Beal, Arlon Ledbetter, Daniel Phillips, Sr. and David Ledbetter. The family will be receiving friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Saturday evening at the funeral home.
