Joe was a wonderful person. We left our car at Tuscola while on a band trip. Needless to say he saw the tires were flat and he had them fixed when we returned from the trip. Not many young people would do this. This was around 1979.. Knew his Grandmother, Beck Carver, a sweet lady. Prayers for all the family.

Gone too soon. His parents and grandparents were all good friends of mine. We did a lot of things together over the years. They were fine people I was privileged to call my friends. God bless the family and all those who loved him, during this time of sorrow.

What can you not say about Joe. Joe was a man admired by many. The people of Haywood county lost another whose dedication was to those who needed his help. He was taught by the wonderful Ernest and Rebecca Carver. I was his sister in law even after Billy and I divorced. Joe opened his home to me whenever I was there. Sarah took care of him to the end. He will be truly missed. Joe also opened his arms to my husband Orlando. Joe may you Rest In Peace Love to you and the family. Orlando and Patti Ramirez

Dear Family, I am so sorry to hear about Big Joe's passing. He was a great friend to me and always willing to lend a hand whether we were working around the fire department, helping with the band or whatever; he was always there. Although time and work took me away from Haywood County, and our normal contact became less; Big Joe was a true friend who was always there. He will be greatly missed. I know for certain that he is in heaven with our Lord. Suffering he will not bear anymore; what a glorious reward I'm sure was waiting for him. He was truly a wonderful friend and a great man. Will keep you in thoughts and prayers. With Love, Roger, Sylvia, Daniel and Dean Reeves
