Canton –   Johnny David Jones, age 62, of Little East Fork Road,  a loving husband, a wonderful daddy  and a truly good man, left his earthy home and entered into his glorious eternal place of peace, on Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Mr. Jones was born July 11, 1955 in Haywood County to the late Lewis David Jones and the late Mary Ann Valentine Jones. Johnny was a former employee of Smathers Market in Canton and had most recently been employed with Ingles Market as produce manager. Mr. Jones was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church. Johnny was a collector of football cards and also NASCAR memorabilia - especially Dale Earnhart.   Johnny could often be found frequenting the flea market where he made many friends and he was well known in the community as the owner and operator of K&J Produce located on 110 in Canton. Johnny loved his family and “his boys” with all his heart and soul.  Johnny will be a part of our lives forever and each precious memory that was shared with Johnny will be cherished forever.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elmer Inman and sisters, Ernestine Clontz and Christine Jones.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Karen Inman Jones; sons, John David Jones of Canton and Joshua Lewis Jones of Canton; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Inman of Canton; sisters, Edna Russell of Canton, Joyce Burns of Canton and Doris Lanning of Canton; special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews and his special Chihuahua dog, “Chocolate”.

 A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, August 7, 2017 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service.Reverend Gary Putnam will be officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening, August 6, 2017.  Burial will be at Center Pigeon Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Jeff Inman, Tristen Rathbone, Chad, Alan and Michael Ballew, Jason Ivester and Jonathan Goodson.

Memorials may be made to Center Pigeon Cemetery Fund, 224 Center Pigeon Road, Canton, NC 28716.
