Canton- On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, Linda Louise Price Gillett, age 63, was carried home by the angels to her glorious place in Heaven.

Linda was born April 17, 1955 in Haywood County to the late Roy Price and the late Aletha Ledford Price.  Linda was an amazing lady who could tackle any job that she put her mind to do. She had been employed in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and she had also worked as a waitress in food service. Linda made friends easily, due to her sweet and outgoing nature. She loved music and she also enjoyed square dancing every chance she could find.  Linda could often be found on the dance stage at Pickin’ in the Park during the summer months and she also looked forward to dancing at  Pickin in the Armory during the winter season.  She loved to garden and she often shared her fresh vegetables with special friends and neighbors.  Linda was truly adventurous; she enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and also going camping.  She always cherished the wonderful and happy memories she shared with her family. Everyone blessed to know Linda loved her and will forever remember her sweet smile and happy laughter. We shall miss her deeply.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Dale Gillett and a brother Felbert Rogers.

She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband, Eugene “ Gene” Messer of Canton; her sons, Earl Hampton of Virginia, Michael Beck of Clyde and Jarvis Hampton of Mississippi; a step-son , Bobby Mintz of Canton; a sister, Lisa Muse of Candler and also many dear friends.

To honor Linda’s request no formal funeral services will be held.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home is honored to be caring for Linda and her beloved family.

Condolences from family and friends

I remember Linda as a neighbor on Hyder Mountain Road. She was a sweet kind person. Her son Michael rode the bus with my girls and they always were taken care of by him. So sorry for the family's loss.
