Remembering A Special Lady

Canton  –  Marcia Faye Green Elliott, age 60, of Salem Lane, was indeed a beautiful  lady that will forever be remembered as someone that was loved by everyone that knew her.  On Sunday, July 30, 2017, Marcia passed away at her home and entered into her glorious heavenly place of peace.

Mrs. Elliott was born January 14, 1957 in Haywood County to the late David Rickman Green and the late Mae Mashburn Green. She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Tuscola High School.  She had been a dedicated employee of Eaton Corporation in Asheville. Marcia was truly a talented lady and artisian. Her handmade crafts, lovely unique jewelry and beautiful paintings were admired by everyone. Music  brought much joy to Marcia’s life and she also loved and cared about all animals. She truly had a giving heart, always putting others before herself. Marcia Green Elliott, was a lady of great courage, a lady whose family was the most important part of her life and a lady who will never ever be forgotten.

Surviving are her loving husband of 41 years, Johnny Elliott of Canton;  her daughter, Amber Dawn Elliott of Greensboro; a son, Jonathan Mark Elliott and his wife, Rachelle Haney Elliott of Canton; a grandson, Porter Quinn Elliott that was the light of her life;  her brother, Steve Green and his wife, Wanda Green of New Bern, NC;  her sisters,  Diane Gregory of Bryson City, Rose Knight and her husband, Roger Knight of Waynesville and Vickey Burchfield and her husband, Gary Burchfield of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Canton.  Reverend Jonathan Blaylock will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials in Mrs. Elliott’s memory may be made to the Special Olympics Program of Haywood County ,c/o Tim Petrea, Waynesville Recreation Center, 550 Vance Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
