Max "Tater" Eugene King Jr.
In God's Loving Care
Asheville – Max " Tater” Eugene King, Jr., was born on April 5, 1969 and went home to be with our heavenly father on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
He had been fighting a long hard battle with cancer, defying all odds against him and he proved himself to be the toughest, strongest, most resilient man that his family and friends knew him to be. Tater left all the physicians that had been caring for him for the past 2 ½ years in awe. Due to complications from a terrible accident, he passed away with his family hovering by his side and who were always at his beck and call. We are proud to say that Tater had always been a God fearing man and he was saved and was baptized. He was and always will be a deeply loved daddy, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law, papaw and friend. Tater deeply loved his two sons, his grandsons and his only granddaughter. Also he loved deeply his three over protective sisters, his mama, daddy, a brother, a nephew and nieces.Tater loved us all with his whole heart. He was our protector and was always there for his family and friends. Tater could make you laugh in the worst of times and you could not help but to smile or laugh when he walked into a room because - Tater indeed lit up the room.
He was employed with Dillingham Company for many years as a heavy equipment operator. Tater loved running the machines so much that he kept all the keys -not kidding, they are in a jar.
He was the son of Linda June Harding King and the late Max Eugene King, Sr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verna and Oliver King and Ellen and Elzie Harding; his cousins, Darrell and Dale Robinson, Josh Harding and Tonya Ballard; his uncles, Ray Boone, Tony Williams, Jim Surrett and Harry Robinson; his aunts, Dianne and Carolyn King and Tater's.special friends, Darrell Hagan, Joey Roberts, Jr., and Billy Brown.
Surviving in addition to his mother, June King are his sisters, Melissa Jones (Ricky), Kim Frisbee (Steven) and Kelly King (Fred); a brother, Mark King (Sheree); his children, John King (Ashley)and Jeff King (Melissa); grandchildren; Kaden, Kaleb and Khloe King; nephews, Chase, Kevin, and Trent; nieces, Holly (Zack), Ashley, Haley and Teila and also a special friend, Larry Wheeler.. Tater also leaves behind many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends that love him and will miss him.
Just always remember, Say It Loud, Say It Proud, Tater King In Everlasting Heaven He Will Be.
We would to thank all the family and friends that have helped, visited and prayed for Tater. A special thank you to Angie for all the help in getting things together and also to the Care Partners Hospice Team.
