Oneida Belle Johnson
A Strong and Beautiful Lady
Waynesville – Oneida Belle Clark Johnson passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at her home in the loving embraces of her family at the age of 66.
A native of Haywood County, Oneida was born February 11, 1952 to the late Riley Clark and to Maxine Moore Clark of Candler, NC.
Oneida was truly a strong lady who loved everyone and would do anything to help others. She was known for her sharing thoughtful and well-planned experiences with others as well as giving wonderful gifts. Oneida had a talent for decorating and interior design that is still admired to this day. Her love for traveling has taken her all across the country as well as having lived in Germany. Oneida often fondly spoke of her visits to Arizona that will always hold a special place in her heart. She attended Trail of Hope Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville, PA. Oneida was a loving and beautiful lady who will never be forgotten.
In addition to her father, Riley Clark, she is preceded in death by a son, Robert Johnson.
Survivors include her life partner of 30 years, Dan "Jay" Forsyth of Fayetteville, PA; her children, Yvonne Shaffer and her husband Bryan of Dry Run, PA, and Dan Johnson of Fayetteville, PA; her granddaughter, Nicole McAllen and her husband,Donnie of PA; her great-grandson, Keith McAllen; her sister and best friend, Bronsalea Clark Jones of Candler, NC and her grandchildren; nephews, Jeremy Jones and his wife, Leeann, and Alan Jones and his wife, Shawna and her close and dear friends, Debbie and Daylon Query.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home in Canton. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton with Rev. Betty Drake and Rev. Caleb Simmons officiating. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Candler, NC.
