Ronald “Ronnie” George Willinger, 68, of Waynesville, passed away March 30, 2018, at The Homestead in Clyde.

Ronnie, together with his wife, Denise, were the founders of Trunks and Treasures which operated for 8 years, later becoming Silver Treasures to specialize in jewelry, which they owned and operated for many years. Ronnie also owned Eagles Cliff Coins, which embodied his fondest hobby of coin collecting. Ronnie completely cherished his wife more than anything in the world, together enjoying each other’s friendship, hobbies, and travels to places such as Bora Bora and the Virgin Islands.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Vera Lambert Willinger; brother, Leonard Willinger, Jr.; and sister, Terri Harvey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Denise Little Willinger of the home; brother-in-law, George Harvey; sister-in-law, Mary Willinger; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Laurie Brunson, and a special nephew, Jim O’Brien.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 5 at New Covenant Church with Pastor Brian Cagle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronnie’s memory to Haywood Hospice at 127 Sunset Ridge Rd, Clyde, NC 28721, or to New Covenant Church at 767 Lee Rd, Clyde, NC 28721.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at The Homestead, and to the New Covenant Church family, for their incredible care and support.

Just remember what I told you..He will be waiting on that beautiful bench in Heaven for you to join him, when your work here is done. I never got to meet Ronnie but if he loved you, I loved him. You were blessed to find your soulmate, and best friend and to have 40 years together.Yours sounds like such a beautiful love story.
