Larry and I will forever be grateful for the memories and her accepting us for what we were , nothing more nothing less . The many hours we spent drinking coffee the old fashion way (only stove top perked) the memories of her precious Pepper . The hours in the swimming pool and giving us a place to live! Shirley will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Dear Uncle Clay, Gary, Phillip and Jeff, Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and send our love and condolences to you. Thank you for wonderful childhood memories and fun times spent with you and Aunt Shirley at your home and at Granny and Grandpa Ballew’s. They are cherished memories of all of you! Aunt Shirley enjoyed living and you were the center of her life!! Shirley and Clay created the most beautiful home with so much fun and love for you boys and I remember how beautiful it was inside and out. I laugh when I think of watching wrestling with all of you and Aunt Shirley showing me how she caught worms with her little Miners helmet on...these are delightful memories that stay with you forever! She was always kind, animated and a wonderful lady and Mother. I know how difficult and lonely it feels without a sweetheart/parent, but it is a Joy to know they are with you always and aware of you and that kindly, God rejoins us to them eternally. Uncle Clay, you are especially in our thoughts and we pray for you to feel comfort and peace; you are such a fine Man. Again, we send our love from all of our family and wish we could be with you! Debbie, Shane and our Sweet Daughters

Aunt Shirley, It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. I used to ask mama why do so many people that you haven’t seen in years come to funerals? I am so sorry I didn’t get to come see you more than I did, but I will never forget that weekend that I got to bring Alex and Haily up there to see you and Uncle Clay. I know you are in Heaven with my mama. I love you. Please tell mama I love her and miss her, and I will see the both of you again one day. You are deeply loved by all of us, and I am glad that you are at peace. I love you so much.

Loved Shirley like a second mom. I remember staying with her on days when there was no school and moma had to work and we would play the piano and sing. She was so good to moma when she was sick. Wish I could have been there but we are out of town. Love and prayers for Clay and family.

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Shirley's passing. I didn't know about it until Saturday, and I have been out of town working.. We would like to send our love and sincerest condolences to Clay, Gary, Phillip and the extended family on this very great loss. I have a mental picture of Mama, Mary Ruth, Shirley, MacK, Frank, Everette and Richard together again in heaven with Grandma and Grandpa Ballew, happy and singing hymns to our Lord. :) They have passed through a door which we will all have to pass, and we have the promise and blessed assurance that if we accept Jesus as Savior, we will see them again in heaven one glorious day - Amen.
