Penrose, NC – Steven Anthony Hodge, age 41, a beloved son and wonderful blessing to his family, entered his eternal heavenly home on Monday, April 22, 2019.

Steven was born September 9, 1977 in Tipton County, Tennessee and is the son of Robert “Bear” Luther Hodge, Jr. and Charlotte Milton Hodge of Penrose, NC. Steven resided most of his life in Tennessee before making his home in North Carolina in 2007.  He had been employed as a Rehabilitation Coordinator at the Brian Center in Hendersonville, NC where his kindness and thoughtfulness touched many lives. Steven had also been a devoted caregiver for Dee West. His love of singing and music and his delightful and funny personality will always be remembered.  Steven loved his family deeply and his great love, care and concern for his mother and daddy which he treated just like royalty will never be forgotten. When thinking of Steven, his family will remember his smile, shall cherish his hugs and will forever admire his caring heart but most of all they will give thanks that Steven was their son.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Hodge; and his maternal grandparents, Richard Milton, and Mildred Sanders Milton.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Tara Hodge Stapleton and her husband, Chad Stapelton of Atoka, Tennessee; a nephew, Dylan Stapelton and his wife, Tristen Stapelton; nieces, Kaitlyn Stapelton and Brooklyn Stapleton; a great-niece, Kinley Stapelton; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He is also survived by his extended family, and "Momma #2," Pam Bell Reaves, and her son who was like a brother to Steven, Michael Bell of Etowah, NC.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Steven’s life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Williamson Creek Community Center, 55 Covered Bridge Lane, Pisgah Forest, NC, 28768. Also, a Memorial Service will be held in Tennessee at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Steven’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Crisis Ministry, 24 Cumberland Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
