Wade Garrett Reemes

Leicester - Wade "Garrett" Reemes, a lifelong resident of the Big Sandy Mush, passed away March 29, 2018, at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Weaverville at the age of 73.
Garrett had resided in the Big Sandy Mush Community all of his life. He was primarily a hard-working farmer, yet also had worked as a pipe fitter, as well as a construction worker for several companies, including Asheville Contracting. He enjoyed coon hunting and loved his coon dogs. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Garrett was a man with a big heart and was loved by everyone blessed to have known him.
Preceding Mr. Reemes in death is his wife, Wanda Sue Henderson Reemes (2006); father, Jack D. Reemes; and brothers, Junior, Charles, Bobby, and Conley Reemes.
Survivors include his mother, Ida Mae Surrett Reemes; children, Trish Lunsford and her husband, Ernie, of Asheville, and Lee Reemes of Big Sandy Mush Community; grandchildren, Aaron Lunsford, Makayla Lunsford, and Samantha Reemes; great-grandson, Ryder; brothers, Grady Reemes of Big Sandy Mush, Nick Reemes and his wife, Peggy Jo of North Turkey Creek, Ralph Reemes and his wife, Renee of North Turkey Creek, Everett Reemes and his wife, Jackie Sue of Big Sandy Mush; sister-in-law, Deb Sharpe Reemes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31 at 3:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Big Sandy Mush. The family will begin receiving friends and visitors at 2:00 PM.
