Agnes Alice Ouly
Caring Mother and Nana
Asheville, NC - Agnes Alice Ouly, 90, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021.
Agnes was born on October 5th, 1930, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, wife of her late husband, Joseph Ouly; daughter of her late mother, Peggy, and late father Peter. She was also preceded by her two brothers, Peter and Jim.
She is survived by her twin daughters; Alison and Karen; her son, James; daughter-in-law, Cheryl; and granddaughters, Christin and Sara. She is also survived by additional local and distant close relatives, dear friends, kind neighbors, and loving caregivers.
Agnes grew up in Scotland and enjoyed sharing her wonderful childhood and family memories and they are always etched in our hearts. She was a phenomenal Scottish storyteller and would often share her childhood adventure stories - climbing trees and sneaking into the church to sing with the choir, just to name a few of them.
Agnes had met and married Joseph (hometown in Pennsylvania), when he was in the Air Force. Joseph’s career with the U.S. military led them to make new homes and friendships throughout the world. Agnes quickly adapted to military life and learned to speak the language in nearly every country where they were stationed.
Mom brightened our lives with her kind heart and Loving Spirit. Agnes delighted in many of her favorite things. Her favorites include the Color: green, Food: Scottish salmon, Drink: hot tea, Wee dog: Heather, Christmas Song: “Silent Night,” Song “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean,” Bible verse: Psalm 23, Hymns: “Onward Christian Soldiers” and “Jesus Loves Me,” Prayer: "Thank you for those who bring us happiness. For they are the cheerful gardeners that help make our souls bloom.", Bed Time Song: “Go to sleep my darlings, Close your little eyes, Angels up above You, Peeping at you darlings from the sky."
Her love for her family, and to all of us who knew her, was shown every day of her life. Agnes once said that she loved every age she has ever been and it is no surprise to anyone who knew Agnes, that she reached the age of ninety. Her courageous and gracious spirit is a pleasant testimony to her longevity.
Agnes is known for her kindness as well as her beautiful smile that could lighten the hearts of anyone. Our love for our Mom shall always be in our hearts. She is our joy! Let us give thanks today for her sweet, inspiring life and her kind heart.
Romans 5:5 “God’s love has been poured out into our hearts...”
Psalm 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy them, and show them my salvation.”
Romans 14:7-9 7“For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.”
