Alice Dills Putnam
In Loving Memory

Waynesville- Alice Marie Dills Putnam, age 79, of the Stamey Cove Community, was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and she departed her earthly life and entered into her eternal heavenly home on Monday, October 4, 2021.
Alice was born February 15, 1942 in Madison County to the late Arvil “Bob” Dills and the late Cora S. Keener Dills. She had made her home in Haywood County most of her life and she was a wonderful homemaker, always making those around her feel loved and special. Alice loved to embroider and her beautiful handwork was admired by everyone. Mrs. Putnam held a strong Christian faith and spent many hours reading her Bible, enjoying Gospel music, and faithfully listening to ministers deliver their Christian Broadcasts on the radio. Alice was a loving, kind, patient, and caring lady and she was a blessing to her family and all those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leon and Windel Dills.
Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Putnam of Waynesville; her children, Marsha Putnam of Waynesville, Sherry Messer of Canton, Laura Moore and Randy of Waynesville, and Kim Best and Tootie of the Crabtree Community; grandchildren, Robert Putnam, Joshua Moore, Jacob Best and Desiree, and Braxton Best; her siblings, Floyd Dills and Roena of Hendersonville, Theda Kapplinger and Dirk of the Jonathan Creek Community, and Jessie Wilson of Sylva; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor and remember Mrs. Putnam will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. Bishop Michael Nations will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in the Stamey Cove Community.
