Barbara Jean Scott McClure passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023, at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Jay McClure; her granddaughter Kelcy Crowe; her great-grandson Kyler Presnell; her parents, Burgin and Faye Scott; and her sister, Linda West. 

Barbara, known affectionately to most as Barbara Jean or Barb, loved her family and friends. She adored animals and enjoyed watching game shows, gospel singing shows, and QVC. She loved to talk and visit with any and everyone. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She always had a smile and a big comforting hug. 

Surviving are her son, Kelley McClure, and his wife, Rebecca, of Sylva; her daughter Jana Fisher, and her husband John, of Waynesville; and her daughter Christy Leigh of Asheville; grandchildren Whitney Reece and her husband Austin, Miranda Saunders and her husband Alex, Samantha Justice and her husband Dillon, Mallory McClure, Cameron McClure, Courtney Presnell, Cheyenne Pilkington, Seneca Lytle, and Ryan Crowe; great-grandchildren Liddie-Mae Crowe, Gunnar, Tanner, Colter Reece, Miller Saunders, Kaiden and Amelia Pilkington, Lilly, Daisy, Delilah, and Jasmine Presnell; as well as special aunts Dot Capps and Catherine Worley; dear friends and in-laws Lisa and Dale Godfrey and treasured friends Brenda Brown and Sheila McClure.

To honor Barbara's request, there will be no funeral arrangements. In her memory, donations can be made to: Friends of Haywood County Animal Shelter.
