Barbara Magerl Weirich

Barbara Magerl Weirich. 80, of Waynesville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Barbara was born to the late Elizabeth and John Magerl on August 3, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY.

She devoted many years to her work as an executive housekeeper, which spanned from casinos to luxury hotels in the Florida Keys. When she was able, she loved visiting Dollywood with her son, Matthew. At one point, they had a membership and would go every month.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ronald Weirich, who passed in November of 1986; two sisters, Elizabeth Guercio and her husband, Sonny, and Charlotte Bell; one brother, John Magerl; and her beloved dog, “Charlie.”

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Matthew Weirich, of Waynesville; a daughter, Patricia “Pat” Ann Alexander and husband Bobby, of Mabank, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
