A Prayer Warrior of the Lord

Photo of Berlyn "Bea" Farmer - 1935-2019

Berlyn “Bea” Farmer, age 84, of Canton, NC went to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 29, 2019. A true and devoted prayer warrior of the Lord, she brought many to know His love and care. She passed on the last Sunday of the year so we know the Angel's welcomed her home, dressed in heaven’s finest.

She was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Edward E. Rogers and the late Vergie Pressley Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Drew; two brothers, Dois Rogers and Hubert Rogers; and her former husband and father of her children, James H. Farmer.

"Bea" graduated from Bethel High School in 1954 and devoted her life to taking care of others in one form or another. Retiring at age 83 from Lifespan, she was a caregiver to all. She also worked in the Bethel School cafeteria and also at Dayco International.

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Berlyn is survived by her children, Sheila Wood, Tim Farmer, Mark Farmer, and Sherrie Hall and her husband Charlie; a granddaughter, Brittany Wood; a grandson, Kenneth Farmer and his mother, Brenda; and a brother, Wade Rogers and his wife Elvalee.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 5, 2019 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home in Canton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. Pastor Michael Chastain will be officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Farmer, Charlie Hall, Craig Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Bently Rogers, and James Burris

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Ms. Farmer’s memory to Full Gospel Baptist Tabernacle of Canton at 47 Gospel Place, Canton, NC 28716.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Farmer family.

We have you and your family on our hearts Brittany. Your love and admiration for your precious mamaw is so beautiful. I had a “Mormor” I felt the same way about but was never able to put into words how much she meant to me as beautifully as you. Mamaw would be so pleased.

Sherrie & Family: Please know I'm praying for you all during this sad time. Your little mom was such a sweet lady and I watched her several times folding the towels at the salon while there with Kevin. Losing a parent is never easy, and the Holidays will never be the same for you after this. Know this is only a temporary goodbye as a Heavenly reunion awaits. Hold on to the memories for they will always keep her with you. May God give you comfort as only He can.
