Canton- Betty Towe Burrell, age 91, a beautiful beloved lady, passed away peacefully at Autumn Care in Waynesville on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

She was born August 11, 1929 to the late V.F. Towe and the late Ethel Hendrix Towe and was blessed to be surrounded with a large and loving family.  Betty had made her home in Haywood County all of her life and she was a devoted homemaker, a wonderful wife, an amazing mother and grandmother and a friend to many. Mrs. Burrell was a lifelong member of The Church of God which was located on North Main Street in Canton. Betty deeply loved her Lord, her church and all of her church family.  Her caring heart runneth over with love and pride for all of her family and she was a blessing to each of them throughout her life .  Everyone will always remember how she enjoyed her lovely flowers and also her treasured antiques. We give thanks for the wonderful and full life of Betty Towe Burrell and we have peace in our hearts knowing she is in her glorious place of eternal rest. Betty will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Brownlowe Burrell who passed away in 2014; her daughter, Mary Lou White; her son, Mike Burrell; a granddaughter, Kelly Burrell, and also six sisters and five brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary Burrell and his wife Mary and Ricky Burrell; a daughter-in-law, Gail Burrell; a son-in-law, Gary White; grandchildren, Debra and Randy James, Jeffrey and Christy Burrell, Jason Burrell, Jonathan and Suzanne White, Jennifer White, Brandy and Edward Lipe, Misty Burrell and Jarrod and Megan Burrell and also a large number of great- grandchildren that she loved dearly.

A funeral service of remembrance to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Burrell will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, June 19, 2021 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 until 4:00 pm prior to the service.

She was a precious lady. Even tho she was my aunt, I always thought of her as my sister or cousin. She was one of my favorite aunts out of 14 aunts I had.
