Canton, NC – Bonnie Clutter Schaefer, age 74, passed away at 2:37 pm on Friday, July 31, 2015 at The Homestead in Clyde, NC. Bonnie was born on February 11, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo. She was the daughter of the late Helen V. and John D. Clutter of Lee’s Summit, MO. Bonnie worked as a teacher’s aide at Bethel Middle School and was also a member of the Parent Board at Pisgah High School. She also served for 30 years as a member of the Parish Council at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Canton, NC. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Jerry F. Schaefer of Canton, NC; her brother, Peter Rhea of Bellingham, WA; her sons, Vincent J. ( Johnna R.) and Anthony M. (Jody U.); her grandchildren, Anita Holloway (Cole), Eric (Jessica), Phillip (Natasha), Kiana and Delaney Schaefer. Bonnie is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Juliana Holland, Peyton, Eric Jr., and Sawyer Schaefer. In celebration of Mrs. Schaefer’s life a memorial mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Canton, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge Road, Clyde, NC 28721. Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Schaefer family.
