Carolyn Cogburn Paige, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. Cogburn and the late Lela Mae Cogburn Walker. Carolyn was loved by everyone blessed to know her and she enjoyed crafting, thrifting and spending time with her family.  In her heart, she believed in giving everyone a chance and she always tried to be kind to everyone she met. Much of her time was spent with her sister and her best friend, Sandy Haney and their fun memories together are special times never forgotten. Carolyn loved her family with all her heart and soul and she was excitingly awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild, Miles Singh. Our beloved Carolyn will remain a part of each of us forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Mac” McArthur Paige; her sisters, Joey and Debby and step-sisters, Dorothy, Debbie and Marilyn.

Surviving are her children, Kim Lathrop and her husband, Kerry, Tracy Sherar, Carla Trantham and her husband, Rodney, Wallace Paige and his wife, Kelley, Jackie Burris and her husband, Josh and Phillip Paige. She also leaves her grandchildren to cherish her memory, Hunter Trantham, Spencer Bolin, Morgan Singh and her husband Par, Megan Lathrop, Sophia Sherar, Mac Paige, Caelan Burris, Katie Sherar, Sullivan Paige, Emma Paige, Olivia Burris and Silas Paige; her sisters, Sandy Haney and  her husband, Randy, Gale Evans and her husband, Craig; her brother, Jeff “Smokey” Walker; her step-brother, Edward Walker; also many wonderful nieces and nephews.

The Paige family will be having a private memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Carolyn.

Kim, Tracy, Carla, Wally, Jackie and Phillip, Today I just learned of your mother's passing and my heart is breaking for each of you and your families. Your mother touched my heart in so many ways, her work ethic to always work hard and to teach each of you to work hard, her love for crafts, upholstery and so many things she taught us, her love for her friends as she was Always there for me arms open with a smile, the thing I most remember is her unconditional love for each of you and your families, she taught me to raise my girls to also work hard an be great people in life. Each of you have so blessed my life over the years with your kindness and hard work, I am so proud each of you are in my life! I have prayed hard for comfort and peace for your family as I dearly love each of you. As your hearts heal know your Mom is absolutely the brightest star in heaven!! Carolyn and I both had a Kim who were friends through out school. They spent the night together, usually at my house or Carolyn's. Carolyn was a busy mom with six children but she handled it with lots of love for her kids and then her grandkids. I know they will miss their mom every minute of every day because that was the kind of mom she was. Our prayers coming your way.
