Charles H. Hipps
In Honor and Remembrance

Candler – Charles Hilliard Hipps, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
A native of Buncombe County, Charles was born August 8, 1940 to the late Charles H. Hipps and the late Blanche Crook Hipps.
He was a member of the 1959 graduating class of Enka High School. Mr. Hipps was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Candler. He was a Past Master and former member of Pigeon River Masonic Lodge No. 386, and was also a member of and had served as Past Master of Biltmore Masonic Lodge No. 446. Mr. Hipps had retired from Overnite Transportation and also from American Freight / FedEx Freight with many years of dedicated service. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Norma Hipps; two sons, Steven Hipps (Carmen) and Michael Hipps; three grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, and Adam; sister, Martha Kent of Fletcher; brothers, Horace (Betty) of Isle of Palms, SC, and Curtis (Faye) of Candler; nephews, Robert (Terrie) of Aiken, SC, and Mark (Linda) of Mount Pleasant, SC.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Candler with Pastor Chip Plemmons officiating. Masonic Graveside Rites will be conferred by Clay Sorrells of the Biltmore Lodge.
