Charles Van Ford

Waynesville - Charles “Van” Ford, age 69, of Waynesville, passed away on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at the Charles George VA Valor Hospice.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, and a Vietnam Veteran, he was the son of Claude and Gladys Hall Ford. Spiritual mentor to many and a member of New Covenant Church, Clyde.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years Janice Ford; his daughters Cynthia Ford, Ilyana Cable (Donny), Sabrina Whitaker, and Jennifer Henry (Allen); and his brother Benny Ford and sister in law Diane; sister in laws Jeaneal Whitted, Juanita Cook, and a special niece Kisha Cook; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a man who loved many, had many jokes, and loved to tell a story.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 18 from 1:00-2:00 pm at New Covenant Church, 767 Lee Road, Clyde, NC and a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. Memorials to be given to New Covenant Church/Mission Fund.
