Canton- Clarence “Bud” Glenn Stines, Jr. blessed with 80 years of a wonderful and full life, entered into his Heavenly place of peace and rest on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

He was born during the fall season of  October 27, 1942 to the late Clarence Glenn Stines, Sr and the late Dellie Redmond Stines. He was a native of Union, South Carolina but had resided in Haywood County most of his life. Bud and his loving wife made their home in the Hungry Creek Community among the mountains which he loved and where one can witness  the sun coming up across the mountain tops and at night the magic of the moon and  the stars lighting up the dark night sky.  Mr. Stines retired from Cranston Print Works in Fletcher where he had been a proud and dedicated employee for 29 years.

He was a true outdoorsman, loving to fish and most importantly spend time with his grandchildren fishing at some of his favorite mountain streams. Clarence was indeed a prankster and he delighted in joking and having fun with his family and friends. He was blessed with a loving and caring heart and he cherished  all of  his family deeply. Clarence Glenn Stines, Jr. will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Hensley Hamilton and brothers, Robert Earl Hensley and Wilburn Hensley .

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Juanita Rhodes Stines; a daughter, Kathy Stines  Johnson and Shawn of Canton; sons, Jerry Stines of Hurlock, Maryland and Jeff Stines and Lisa of Maggie Valley; grandchildren, Jerry, Jessy, Joseph, Cody, Kyle and Lilly; 6 great-grandchildren, brothers, Harold Stines and JoAnn  of Canton, Kenneth Stines and Eva Mae of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

To honor his request private services for Mr. Stines will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer Association of WNC-Asheville, 31 College Place , Suite 103, Asheville, NC 28806

Crawford / Ray Funeral Fome and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Stines family.
