Loved His Family Deeply

Photo of Daniel Andy Shuler Jr. - 1958-2024

Daniel Andy Shuler, Jr., age 65, a wonderful husband and father, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024. Andy leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and a passion for life.

Andy was born on July 12, 1958, in Jackson County to the late Daniel Andy Shuler, Sr., and the late Shirley Carolyn Broom Shuler. His career was in the construction industry where he had worked with Clark and Leatherwood and later retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Andy's skill and dedication were evident in every project he undertook. He held a true passion for spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and even gardening. He also could be found during the winter season sitting outside in front of a warm roaring fire and training his hunting dogs. Andy found great solace and joy in nature's embrace. He was blessed with a multitude of friends and was a member of the Smoky Mountain Bear Hunter's Association. Andy's true happiness was found in the love he shared with his family and friends. He was a wonderful cook and he often enjoyed cooking for his family - his Atomic Beans and Vinegar Pies were a favorite of everyone!

Our hearts are saddened as we think of our days without Andy but we know that he is in a glorious place of peace and rest and his precious memory will remain a part of us forever.

Andy leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon G. Shuler; a son, Tommy Shuler of Sylva; sisters, Sharon Keefer (Jr.) of Sylva and Jeanette Jones (Casey) of Whittier; a special niece, Valerie Meyer and two other nieces; four great-nieces; one great-nephew and many friends.

To honor Andy's request no formal services will be held.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Shuler family.
