Canton- Debra "Deby"Lynn Cogburn, age 60, passed away on Monday, 23, 2020 and entered into her peaceful and glorious place in Heaven.

Debra was born during the spring season of May 5, 1959 and had made her home in Canton most of her life.  She brought much joy to her family and the special bond that they each had between them will be treasured forever. Debra was a 1976 graduate of Pisgah High School where she enjoyed sports and will be remembered as an outstanding athlete at PHS. Throughout her working career Deby was employed with several manufacturing industries throughout the area and was indeed a hard worker and a dedicated employee. Debra attended High Street Baptist Church in Canton. She loved the beach, feeling the warm sunshine upon her face, the soft sand touching her feet and swimming among the breaking waves of the ocean were wonderful happy memories that she recalled and cherished all during her lifetime. Deby was a loving daughter, mother and sister, who was a gift to her family each and every day. With her kind compassionate spirit and her hand to hold, her beloved family has traveled thru this life’s journey together. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joey Miller, step-father, Fred Walker ; step-sisters, Marilyn Walker, Dorothy Payne and Debra Walker 

Surviving are her mother, Lela Mae Cogburn Walker of Canton; a son, Josh Mason of Georgia; her sisters, Carolyn Paige of Maggie Valley, Sandy Haney and  Randy of Waynesville and Gale Evans and Craig of Canton; a brother, Jeff “Smokey Walker of Canton and several nieces and nephews.

 A service of remembrance to celebrate the life of Debra will be at a later date.
