A Blessing to Our Family
Waynesville- On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Ethan Daniel Gentry, age 23, a beloved son and brother entered into his eternal Heavenly home.
Ethan was born during the winter season of December 27, 1996 in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Danny Lee Gentry and Angie Brookshire Stanford of Canton. Ethan was a dedicated and loyal employee of Lowes in Waynesville. He enjoyed music and Ethan was indeed talented at playing the bass guitar. He loved to fish and could often be found fishing in his favorite mountain streams among the mountains where he was born and raised. Ethan also enjoyed spending time on his computer and many hours gaming. When remembering Ethan his entire family happily recalls his great love of Chinese food and eating pizza with his family and friends. His beloved memory will be a part of those blessed to know him forever and in the words of his mother, “Ethan was my Gentle Giant.” Our hearts spill over with love and wonderful memories of Ethan as we give thanks for his life and the blessing that he was to each of us.
In addition to his Dad, Ethan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Viola and Paul Gentry and his maternal grandfather, Jack Brookshire.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Angie Brookshire Stanford of Canton; his maternal grandmother, Helen Brookshire; siblings, Jack Stanford (Tammy), Mary Stanford, Brian Gentry (Amanda), Nathan Gentry, Michael Gentry (Courtney) and also numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Ethan will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 7, at New Cruso Cemetery. Pastor Scotty Rollins and Pastor Harry Worley will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Stanford, Brian Gentry, Michael Gentry, Nathan Gentry, Brady Brookshire, David Alan Brookshire, Jesse Brookshire, and Dillon Brookshire.
