Canton- Eunive “Bea” Hannah Singleton, age 89, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Pigeon Valley Rest Home in Canton.

Bea was born February 26, 1930 in Buncombe County to the late Walter Babe Hannah and the late Laura Jane James Hannah. As a young girl she moved to Haywood County where she had made her home for most of her life in the Cataloochee and Cove Creek community. She was a well-known tomato and strawberry farmer, and she also grew beautiful roses which she distributed to florists throughout the area. Bea will forever be remembered as a loving mother and wonderful grandmother who taught her children and grandchildren many different things which they will never forget. Mrs. Singleton was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Bea was blessed with a feisty and spunky personality and we give thanks for her life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Singleton, Sr. (1979); son, Billy Jack Singleton, Jr.; and daughter, Cyndi Singleton.

Surviving are her daughters, Irene Green and her husband, Charles, of Canton, and Roxanne Rathbone of Canton; grandchildren, Isaac Rathbone, Heather Rathbone, Adrian Rathbone, Jeremiah Green, Tonya Singleton, Amber Medley, Cody Goode, and Heather Creson; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Chance, Hayden, Addy, Sadie, Josh, Skylar, Ava, Nikki, Nicole, Gary, Gavin, and Grayson, with 2 more blessings on the way; a sister, Flora Zimmerman of Canton; a special niece, Barbara Rhinehart; and special nephews, “Jimbo” Woody, Ralph Woody, and Bill Hannah.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Nelson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Singleton family.
