Eva Lucile Linger

Waynesville – Eva Lucile Burns Linger, age, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Waynesville, NC.

Eva Lucile Burns Linger was born on a farm outside London, Kentucky on May 28, 1923. Her father was the late Woodson Burns and her mother was the late Bess Yaden Burns. She attended Rough Creek School, Bush High School and Berea College. Mrs. Linger did secretarial work in Cincinnati, Chicago and Louisville before marrying Harrison Linger in 1954, who was from Idaho Falls, Idaho. She spent most of her life in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Waynesville, NC in 2008.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harrison Linger, who passed away March 15, 2015 and a sister, Kathleen Burns Quinn.

Surviving are her children, Yvette Linger Johns and Craig Harrison Linger; daughter-in-law, Laura Linger and five grandsons, Bryant Johns, Curtis Johns, Nathaniel Linger, Noah Linger and Thomas Linger.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the Rough Creek Cemetery, outside of London, Kentucky.
