Asheville – Hattie Conard Ramsey, age 88, a precious lady who was loved by everyone, passed away in the comfort of her home Monday, July 4, 2022.

Hattie was born June 14, 1934 in Haywood County to the late Arthur Conard and the late Rosa Bell Medley Conard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Ramsey who passed away in 1993; two daughters, Carolyn Sizemore and Sharon Pinkerton; a son, Doyle Ramsey; and two brothers.

Mrs. Ramsey had been employed with BASF in Candler for over 20 dedicated years. Hattie enjoyed getting all dressed up when going somewhere special and was blessed with a good sense of humor, a straightforward personality, and could also be very reserved when she needed to be. She enjoyed working on word search puzzles and she was also an amazing cook. Her pinto beans, “fried taters” and squash were a favorite of everyone. Mrs. Ramsey was a faithful Christian lady and was a member of Candler House of Prayer. Hattie’s heart’s passion was the love of her family, and she will be deeply missed by each of them.

Surviving are her son, Harold Ramsey of Candler; two daughters, Linda Rosser of Leicester, and Teresa Ramsey of Candler; 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Johnny Conard, Howard Conard, and Bobby Joe Conard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A funeral service to remember the life of Hattie Conard Ramey will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 8, 2022 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home in Canton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Pastor Chuck Waldrup will be officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Ramsey family.

I have such wonderful memories of her big smile everytime I saw her. How she inspired me with her great love for Jesus her Savior. She was always praising God in church. I will miss you my friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. I won't be able to attend the funeral, though would like to, because I am sick. I really missed her when she stopped coming to church. She wanted to speak to everybody and give them a hug.
