Jack Haynes, age 90, of Clyde, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023.  He was born on October 22, 1932, in Haywood County to the late Posey E. Haynes and the late Bertha Davis Haynes.

He was a caring and loving husband to his wife, Helen of 67 years and he was also a very loving, wonderful, and involved "girl dad".  Jack was truly a fun, mischievous, and entertaining grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, he loved to golf and enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. He was a true "Mr. Fixit" who also loved working puzzles, coloring, and painting.

Jack was a proud Military Policeman serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he earned four service medals. He was a dedicated member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he held numerous positions including deacon and choir member. Jack retired from BASF with many loyal years of service.

Jack was blessed to be born into a large family and was one of 12 children. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Georgia, Mary, Alvin, Nellie, Dorothy, Lorena, his twin sister, Jean, Kate, and Joann.

He is survived by his loving wife Helen; his daughters, Debbie Mull (Kenny), Kathy Reece (Doug), Beverly Frady (Roger); his 5 grandchildren; Kari Setser (Scotty), Natalie Migliarini (James), Joshua Frady (Lindsay), Tara Ryan (Shawn), and Jacob Frady (Rebecca); his 8 great-grandchildren; Karrington Cole, Ashtyn and Easton Frady, Hayden and Izzabella Setser, and Patrick, Jack and Kieran Ryan; his brother and sister, Charles Haynes (Ruby) and Martha Greer (Doug); a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, LouAnn and Charlie Evans and a special neighbor, Leslie Scardaci.

A funeral service with military rites to honor the life of Jack will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Setser, James Stevenson, Joshua Frady, Shawn Ryan, Jacob Frady, and Danny McElroy. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Setser, Easton Frady, Patrick Ryan, Jack Ryan, Kieran Ryan, and Izzabella Setser.

I've known Jack for many years. Jack was a member and deacon of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he and his wife Helen and their children Debbie, Kathy and Beverly attended regularly. Thanks for his service to our church and to our country! He will be missed!
