Canton – Our hearts are broken as we have lost a special someone who is dear and precious to so many throughout our community, Jacqueline “Jacky” Irene Bell, age 50, passed away May 15, 2021.

Jacky was born December 24, 1970 in Haywood County to the late Harold Bell and the late Delzie Mae Cates Bell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She was a member of the 1989 graduating class of Pisgah High School and continued her education at Haywood Community College where she earned her associate degree as a certified medical assistant. Jacky had a long-standing career in the medical field and worked at many facilities in the area and retired from Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Jacky was a member of West Canton Baptist Church and together with her mother, reached out to help and volunteer at several food pantries throughout Haywood County. She enjoyed square dancing and mountain clogging and Jacky was best known for her kind spirit, big heart, beautiful smile and sweet soul. When things slow down and we have a moment of peace, you may look around and notice a graceful dragonfly - that is Jacky’s spirit, and she will be with us forever and guiding us always.

Surviving are her daughter, Skylar Rhinehart of Canton; the love of her life, Randy Cochran of Canton; brother, R. Lee Carpenter of Troy, Ohio; nephew, Joshua Carpenter of Florida; her “fur baby”, Piggy; her lifelong friend who she loved like a sister, Lora Banther Inman of Canton; and many close friends and extended family. Jacky truly loved Skylar and Randy and would often tell them, “I love you to the moon and back!”

A celebration of Jacky’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Church of God of Prophecy at 860 Terrace Drive, Canton, NC 28716. Bishop Dr. Terry Threadwell will be officiating. At other times the family will be at their home at 56 Raby Street, Canton, NC 28716. People are welcome to visit or send blessings of food or flowers to the home.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist the family with expenses at gofund.me/9525e136

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for Jacky and her family.
