Forever In Our Hearts

Photo of Jason Marcus Hughes - 1971-2026

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Jason Marcus Hughes—a devoted husband and father, cherished brother and uncle, loyal friend, and dedicated law enforcement officer whose life was defined by service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Jeanne Hughes, and his brother Darin Hughes.

Through his career in law enforcement and public service, Jason devoted himself to protecting and serving the people and community he cared for so deeply. He carried out that calling with courage, integrity, humility, and compassion. He understood that service was about more than a badge or a title—it was about standing beside people during their hardest moments and making a meaningful difference one person at a time.

Jason’s family was at the center of his heart. He was the devoted husband of Adrienne Crawford Hughes and loving dad to Jase and Brooke Hughes and Miranda Allen. Jason was also the grandfather of Ryleigh and Zane Allen and uncle to several nieces, great-nieces, and a great nephew. He is survived by a sister, Kala Henkell (Max), and a brother Derek Hughes.

Jason leaves behind a legacy far greater than any title, accomplishment, or number of years. It lives on in his wife and children, in his extended family and friends, in the people he protected, and in the communities he served so faithfully. His legacy lives in every act of kindness inspired by his example and in every person who carries forward the compassion and strength he showed throughout his life.

Jason loved electronics and the latest technology, serving as our family tech support. Most of his time outside of work centered around Jase. Whether it was a game or practices, riding the side-by-side or dirt bikes, or fishing at the pond together, Jason was truly his son’s hero.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Jason’s love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Pinnacle Church in Canton. Pastor Heath Davis and Pastor Caleb Simmons will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 11:00AM until 1:30PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Cruso United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Crawford / Ray Funeral is deeply honored to be caring for Jason and his family.
