Jason Ray Cogburn
In Loving Memory
"What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
Jason Cogburn entered into the presence of his Savior on July 16, 2026.
The guitar taught him discipline. His work became his ministry. Martial arts refined his character. His faith gave purpose to it all.
From an early age, Jason found refuge in music. Countless hours spent with a guitar taught him patience, discipline, and quiet perseverance. Long before he became known for repairing computers, those qualities were shaping the man he would become.
Jason and his wife, Leigh, founded Byte Me Computers in a small shop in Clyde, made possible by their first landlord, Sam Jenkins, whose encouragement and generosity gave them an opportunity to begin. Over the next fifteen years, Jason honed his craft and quietly earned the trust of his community, one customer and one relationship at a time.
When you walked into Jason's shop, he didn't see the computer. He saw the person. He listened. He took the time to explain. He never rushed anyone out the door. Customers often arrived needing computer repair and left having been heard, encouraged, and treated with genuine care.
Outside the shop, Jason faithfully studied martial arts through Kwanmukan International under the instruction and mentorship of Hanshi Carl Wilcox, whose guidance became one of the most significant influences in his adult life. He pursued excellence with humility, held himself to high standards, and encouraged others to do the same.
Jason publicly professed his faith in Jesus Christ through baptism and dedicated his life to serving God. His faith was not simply something he believed, but something he sought to live each day through humility, compassion, and service to others.
Above all, Jason was a faithful and devoted husband who cherished his wife Leigh. Together they built a life marked by perseverance, faith, and shared purpose. Jason found happiness in the simple moments. His greatest joy was being at home with his wife and dogs, all of whom he adored and spoiled without measure.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Gladys Cogburn, whose love and guidance anchored his childhood and remained with him.
Jason is survived by his wife, Leigh Hazlett Cogburn; his mother, Teresa Blythe; stepfather, Carrol Blythe; his grandfather, Hubert Cogburn; and many cousins, extended family members, cherished friends, loyal customers, and his Kwanmukan family.
A Celebration of Jason's Life will be held on Sunday, July 26, at 3:00 p.m. at Crawford / Ray Funeral Home in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Haywood Pathways Center in Jason's honor.
The fund will provide resident move-in kits and community living essentials for individuals rebuilding their lives, continuing the quiet legacy of service that defined Jason's own.
