Canton- Jason S. Chandler, age 44, of Canton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 after a brief illness.

Jason was born June 14, 1978 in Haywood County to the late Bill and Becky Chandler. He was a man well-liked by everyone and blessed with a multitude of friends. Jason loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and digging ginseng in the mountains.  The time that he spent with his loving wife, daughters, and his special fur babies, “Lilly” and “Fatboy” were happy and wonderful memories in his life. Jason will be missed each and every day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mitch and Edna McCarter, and his paternal grandparents, Starlie and Lucy Chandler.

Surviving are his loving wife, Vanessa Reece Chandler; daughters, Jada Reece, and Jacie Chandler whom he adored; brothers, Tony Cope (Peggy), and his twin brother, Jarrett (Angie) Chandler; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Jason had requested that no formal services be held, however, to celebrate Jason’s life the Chandler family is planning a gathering of family and friends to be held at their residence, 1415 Lake Logan Road in Canton on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. All family and friends are invited to bring pictures, special stories and memories to share on this day. Jason would be pleased.

Jason was like a cousin to me, our dads were close friends and I grew up down the road from him. He was always teaching me new outdoorsy things when I was little, and even gave me the first cat we had in Bethel. He will be missed greatly.
