Forever In Our Hearts

Canton - On Sunday, July 24, 2022 John David Tweed, who was ours for 36 blessed years, passed away.

John was born August 7, 1985 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and had resided most of his life in Candler. He had been employed as a carpenter in the construction industry and he had also worked with Smith Dray Lines as a professional mover.  John was most happy when spending time outdoors and fishing was one of his favorite past-times. He had also spent many hours digging ginseng among the mountains of Western North Carolina, and it was often said John had a natural gift of spotting ginseng from amazing distances away. His greatest love was for his family and his children, and the happy memories of the times that they shared together will be always be cherished. Our love for John will remain a part of us forever.

John was preceded in death by his papaw that he loved deeply, V.J. Honeycutt.

Surviving are his mother and daddy, Kathy Honeycutt Lince and Gerald Roy Lince of Canton; his daughter, Kylie Tweed of Candler; his sons, Collin Tweed, Carter Tweed, and Cooper Tweed all of Candler; his maternal grandmother, Peggy Honeycutt Brooks (David) of Franklin; a brother, Jamie Tweed (Yani) of Rutherfordton; a step-brother, Chad Tweed of Georgia and his family; a nephew, Ayden O’Kelley of Rutherfordton; a niece, Arabella Tweed of Rutherfordton; and his beloved girlfriend, Megan Smith of Candler.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate John’s life will be held on his 37th birthday, Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Canton.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Tweed family.
