Johnnie Wilkie Henderson
A Caring And Loving Lady

Canton- Johnnie Wilkie Henderson, a kind and wonderful lady, who loved her Lord and Savior and adored her family and especially her grandchildren with all her heart and soul, entered into her eternal home in heaven on September 8, 2023.
She was born February 3, 1946, in Jackson County and was the daughter of the late Catherine Wyatt and the late John A. Wilkie. Johnnie was employed with Champion International as a quality control inspector where she retired with many years of dedicated service. Johnnie was truly someone that made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was always offering a kind word, cooking a delicious meal for a family, or just brightening up someone’s day with her fun humor and joking. Everyone was always made feel welcome to Johnnie’s home. Her amazing biscuits and gravy were a favorite of family and friends. To gather at Johnnie’s home and share together one of her big family home-cooked meals was a blessing to everyone. Her grandchildren delighted being with her and playing with her and they so enjoyed Johnnie acting silly and making them laugh. Johnnie loved her home and she also enjoyed working in her flowers and her garden. The holidays were indeed a special time for Johnnie and all her family. Her home always was a joy to visit and her magical way of decorating and bringing Christmas to the hearts of all her family was wonderful and will never be forgotten. A touching memory shared by Johnnie’s family was the way she ended every telephone conversation with her family, “I love you and call me if you need me!” – and Johnnie truly meant it!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Henderson, Sr., her son, Jeffrey Lee Henderson, and her sisters, Carolyn Duncan, Brenda Taylor, and Shirley Shead.
Surviving are her daughter, Angela Henderson (Bill); her son, Roy Lee Henderson, Jr. (Kelly); a daughter-in-law, Carrie Ann Henderson; her sisters, Wanda Mae McNallie, Vera Kay Surrett, and Betty Wilkie; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; also many dear friends.
