Our Special Brother

Photo of Joseph Daniel "Webber" Lawrence - 1958-2020

Sixty-one years ago you came into this world as our baby brother.  On Monday, May 18, 2020 you left us to join our parents.  You could be a handful at times and you lived in your " own time", as we were 4 to 6 years older than you.

Danny we have let you go with heavy hearts, but we know that you are with Mama and Daddy and our Heavenly Father.  There is not a sweeter place to be, no more pain or suffering for you.

Joseph Daniel Lawrence was born September 15, 1958 to Walter and Nancy Morgan Lawrence at Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville and was delivered by Dr. Robert E. Daniels, for whom Danny was named.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nancy Morgan Lawrence who had made their home in Canton; his paternal grandparents, George and Belle Lawrence who had resided in Canton and his maternal grandparents, Hillard and Mary Hendrix Morgan who had made their home in Asheville.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Sandra Sorrells (Doug) of Canton; his brothers, Mike Lawrence (Cindy) of Bethel and Tim Lawrence of Canton; several nieces and nephews that Danny loved dearly; a special nephew, Todd Sorrells who came to Danny’s need at any time; also several great-nieces and great-nephews who adored him.

Our beloved "Webber" will be laid to rest at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 1:00 pm as our family and friends gather for a graveside memorial service to remember and honor the life of Danny. Pastor Steve Frazier will be officiating.

Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Lawrence family.

Timmy, Mikey n Sandra, This breaks our hearts. I know we all hadn't seen each other in years, but we are blood. I really never got to know Danny much, having to have been moving around like we did n all. I praise the Lord, that I haven't lost a sibling, but I have a child n my parents, so I do totally understand your heartache. I just want the 3 of you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, for the Lord to give you peace, to hold you n comfort you. We love you guys so much.. God bless all of you always.

I was heartbroken to hear of Danny's passing. Danny was my first little boyfriend at age 4 ,he was my first kiss . It was an honor to have known him. My husband worked with Danny at town of Canton and knew him as Webber and said he could make the sound of a train whistle so loud that some people would move out of the way lol. I'm sorry I miss his service didn't find out till Wednesday. I'm prayers are with you . God Bless.
