Canton- Judith Ann McAninch Woody’s life was an inspiration to others in many ways. Despite facing the challenges of cancer three times, she never lost her spirit or determination. Her resilience and strength were a testament to her character and served as a source of inspiration for those around her.

Our hearts are saddened that we lost our beloved Judith on Sunday, September 24. 2023. She is now in her glorious place in Heaven.

Judith was born November 5, 1951, in Buncombe County to the late Bryce Dean McAninch and the late Eureka Maxine Clark McAninch. She had resided in the mountain town of Hot Springs before making her home in Haywood County for the past two years. She had been employed with American Enka Corporation where she demonstrated great dedication and a strong work ethic.

Judith’s unwavering love and dedication to her family were truly remarkable and her family was always her main concern. She was truly a loving mother and Judith simply adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In her quiet moments, Judith found solace in reading and coloring amazing pictures. These simple pleasures allowed her to relax and brought much peace into her life.

Judith Ann Woody’s life serves as an example to others and even in the face of adversity, one can find strength, love, and joy. Her unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, love, and hope.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Frank David Woody who passed away in 2022.

Surviving are her daughters, Julie Bolick of Marion, Linda Payne of Charlotte, Renee North of Maggie Valley, and Melissa Barnett (Jonathan Moore ) of Canton; her son, Anthony Woody of Weaverville; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh), Sylvia (Matthew), Josh, Jodi, Kayla, Brianna, Cody, and Samantha; her great-grandchildren, Emmy, Ben, and Keith; her sisters, Jane Swaney, Lynn McAninch, Jenny Hensley, Betty Warren, and Linda Jamison; her brothers, James Dean McAninch, Ray McAninch, Ronnie McAninch, Doug McAninch, Dewayne McAninch, and Mike Collins; also many nieces, nephews, and friends
