Canton- Lydia Ann Taylor Reece, age 66, of Fullam Drive, a loving wife, wonderful mother, special grandmother and a dear sister, entered into her heavenly home on Friday, February 12, 2016.
Mrs. Reece was born January 31, 1950 in Buncombe County to the late John Taylor and the late Betty P. Jenkins Taylor. She was a devoted homemaker and had resided in Buncombe County before making her home in Canton in 1984. Lydia Ann loved beautiful flowers, was a wonderful cook and always graciously welcomed visitors to her home. Special memories of summertime family picnics, traveling to Tennessee and delightful beach trips will be treasured forever by her family. Lydia Ann deeply loved her family and her grandson, Dakota held a very special place in her heart.
Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, John Reece; a son, Johnny Reece and his wife, Kimberly McCracken Reece of Clyde; her grandson, Dakota Reece of Canton; a brother, Billy “B.J.” Taylor and his wife, Rachel Taylor of Asheville; a sister, Margie McCrary and her husband, Dale McCrary of Florida; a sister-in-law , Martha Gass of Fletcher; a brother-in-law, Henry Reece of Canton; nieces and nephews that she loved just as her own children and many dear friends
. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The Reverend Alf Miller will be officiating. Burial will be in Hice Hill Cemetery in Candler. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
