Mabel was born August 29, 1935 and had made her home in Haywood County most of her life. She had formerly resided in Marion where she had been employed at Baxter Healthcare for 25 years. Mabel also devoted her life to taking care of her family and her home. In the summer season, she could often be found in her vegetable garden and working among her beautiful flowers. She was an amazing cook and her chocolate homemade candies were loved by everyone – all across the county. Her delicious cakes were also favorites of friends and family and Mable truly enjoyed her time working as a cake decorating instructor at McDowell Technical College. Everyone blessed to know Mabel loved her and with her kind and giving heart she spent many years working in home healthcare taking care of patients that truly adored her. She was also an avid reader and when she could find a quiet moment she often enjoyed reading one of her favorite books. Mable will forever be remembered as a loving wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, dear sister, and a sweet friend. We shall miss her deeply.
