Martha Jean Fisher
A Cherished Lady

Martha Jean Fisher entered into eternal heavenly paradise on September 8, 2023.
Martha’s life journey began in the fall season of October 19, 1935. She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late James Clifford Fisher and the late Erma Lee Roberts Fisher.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Martha. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she often enjoyed reminiscing about the wonderful memories she held in her heart of her life growing up in Canton and special stories about the Fisher family. Her pleasant and kind personality touched everyone she met. For more than 30 years, Martha was employed as a dental hygienist, working for Dr. William “Bill” Powell and later Dr. Brad Morgan. It always seemed if Martha knew exactly how to make her patients feel calm and relaxed upon taking their seat in the dental chair!
Just a mention to Martha about “going out to eat” always brought a happy smile to her face and we shall never forget the thoughtfulness and kindness that she always showed to her neighbors and friends. Martha was a lady of strong faith and was a member of Canton First Baptist Church. We rejoice for the 87 wonderful years of Martha’s life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Pat Fisher, a brother, Donald Fisher, and a sister, Nancy Turner.
Surviving are her nephews, Todd Fisher, and his wife Lisa of Canton; Ricky Fisher and his wife Debbie of Enka, Daniel Turner and Davis Turner of Enka; a sister-in-law, Joan Fisher of Enka; great nieces and nephews, Andy, Lindsey, and Libby.
A funeral service to honor the life of Martha will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Pastor Court Greene will be officiating. Burial will be in Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to be caring for the Fisher family.
Condolences from family and friends
